HOW DO I GET TO THE FESTIVAL?

BY TRAIN

The nearest stations are Leicester, Loughborough, Nuneaton and Tamworth. We recommend Leicester as being the more convenient station to travel to as there are more options to get to the festival site from the station itself.

Leicester station, on London Road in Leicester, is 18 miles from the festival site.

You can catch a taxi direct from the station or you can walk to St Margerets Bus Station in Leicester, approximately 10-15 minutes walk, and take the 9/9A local bus service with Arriva from Leicester to Coalville.

This bus service runs twice every hour from St Margarets Station.
From Coalville you can then take a taxi to the festival site in Heather which is 6 miles away.

Alternatively, we have dedicated busses running from St. Margarets directly to the festival site.  Tickets for these busses must be purchased in advance.  They are available on our tickets page and cost just £20 return.

BY BUS

If you are travelling from any major town or city we recommend that you travel into St. Margarets Bus Staion in Leicester. This is a National Express hub.

We have dedicated busses from St. Margarets straight to the festival site. It costs £20 return and tickets must be purchased in advance from our tickets page or the Roberts Coaches booking office at the Bus Station.

Alternatively you can take the 9/9A local bus service with Arriva from Leicester to Coalville.

This bus service runs twice every hour from St Margarets Station.

From Coalville you can then take a taxi to the festival site in Heather which is 6 miles away.

THE BARGAIN BUS

If you are local to the festival, the Bargain Bus will be offering the legendary shuttle service again from the following key local pick up and drop off points - direct to the festival site. Full service details available soon.

Certain Satellite Navigation systems may not take you directly to the farm so please look out for the SFF2012 signs when you arrive on Normanton Lane!

I LIKE SINGING SONGS AROUND A CAMPFIRE, CAN I BUILD ONE?

Unfortunately, for insurance reasons we cannot allow any unofficial guest fires in the campsite or festival arena, but feel free to have the sing song!

CAN I BRING MY DOG?

With the exception of assistance dogs, we can’t allow pets of any kind onto the festival site, and please don't even consider leaving an animal in your vehicle on the campsite. Any such incident will be dealt with immediately – we are a Farm and all animal welfare is important to us.

WHAT SIZE TENT SHALL I BRING?

Whatever you’re comfortable with. We welcome people and tents of all shapes and sizes. If you need a taxi from the car park to the campsite with all your festival camping gear we have our friends ”Festaxi” onsite offering a superb taxi service in 6 seater golf buggies – delivering you & your equipment in style to your camping pitch. Check the map for the Festaxi Pick Up & Drop Off Points

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO ATTEND THE FESTIVAL?

Anyone under the age of 16 or with a Child Ticket should be accompanied by someone with an Adult Ticket at all times throughout the festival.

CAN I BRING MY CAMPERVAN?

Yes – particularly if it is a nice one and you like having it photographed. Check the tickets page for information.

WHAT SHALL I BRING?

Start with a good friendly and positive attitude and work your way up from there. In a material world sense – please do not bring anything you are not prepared to lose, so think carefully about bringing your 1957 Fender Stratocaster, life savings in cash or gold plated grandmother. You can check one of those mind numbing, intelligence insulting festival survival guides for suggestions or just pack whatever you think you will need….no glass, no WMD’s, no light aircraft, pet tigers etc, etc

I CAN'T USE THE TICKETS I'VE BOUGHT, CAN I GET A REFUND?

Sorry, we don't refund or resell tickets that can't be used. As tickets for Strawberry Fields Festival are limited we are positive you will have no problems finding a buyer for unwanted tickets.

WHERE CAN I PARK MY CAR?

All parking is FREE at the festival and it's not more than a five minute walk to the festival entrance and campsite.  There are allocated parking areas for those camping - for everyone's safety we do not allow cars to unload or stop in roadways or to be parked next to tents.  Cars pulling caravans / trailer tents can be parked in the caravan / campervan field. If this is too far for you with all your festival camping gear we have our friends ”Festaxi” onsite offering a superb taxi service in 6 seater golf buggies – delivering you & your equipment in style to your camping pitch. Check the new 2013 map soon for the Festaxi Pick Up & Drop Off Points

ARE THERE ANY HOTELS & B&B'S NEARBY?

Yes, contact us for details.

WHAT ARE THE FACILITIES LIKE FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES?

Our stewards will do all they can to help you enjoy the festival.  Adapted toilets are available in both the festival site and campsite and there's a dedicated camping area.  Places in the disabled parking and camping area must be arranged in advance.

CAN I HAVE A BBQ?

Yes, small disposable BBQs are ok in the campsite – but no open fires. Small LPG gas canisters are permitted.

Please make sure gas canisters are not changed inside tents or caravans. If you have a fire emergency, please inform a steward or security officer straight away – they will direct a first response fire team to the location.

DO NOT attempt to tackle a fire on your own – we have qualified personnel & dedicated equipment for that purpose.

CAN I BRING ALCOHOL?

We are fun loving party people, not a single party police state, so it is against our very nature and the ethos of Strawberry Fields to search our guests on their way in, and we reserve the right to do so only in exceptional circumstances. We are a new festival who desire to put on a great event with the best possible line up - we rely on the bars to help us fund the bands and artists we book. We are asking our guests to be considerate of our need to meet the costs of the festival. The bars are fairly priced and offer an exceptional range of alcoholic beverages and refreshments.

NO GLASS BOTTLES of any description on site please!

So yes, you can bring alcohol to drink in the campsite.

Carry on allowance for SFF2013 for weekend ticket holders only is a pack of 12 cans / one box of wine or 1 litre of decanted spirit per person (NO GLASS ONSITE PLEASE) – but with the bars priced so low who needs to lug their favourite tipple to the campsite to get warm and tepid in the August heatwave? Yuck!

No carry on alcohol will be allowed into the Event Arenas!

Day ticket holders will not be permitted to bring any alcohol onsite.

Security will confiscate any amount they deem as being for anything other than personal consumption. There will be well-stocked bars within the festival site – all offering exceptional value & a great audio visual experience as well. The reselling of alcohol is strictly prohibited – our license will not tolerate any selling of alcohol onsite from an unlicensed source.

Absolutely, positively we really, really mean it - no glass on site please!

WILL THERE BE MEDICAL SUPPORT ON SITE FOR EMERGENCIES?

Yes, a team of paramedics and first aiders will be on site 24 hours a day for the duration of the festival, however they do not keep prescription medication so you should bring your supply for the festival. If you need medical attention at anytime, or if you see someone you suspect may be in some difficulty, please talk to one of our stewards or security team – they are here to help you & keep you safe. Our Medic Point is situated next to the entrance to the camping field – look for the big red cross.

WHERE CAN I SMOKE AT THE FESTIVAL?

You will not be able to smoke in any of the buildings & marquees at the festival; we have to enforce this law so please respect the no smoking signs & those around you. Other than that smoking is permitted in all other areas.

CAN I BUY GROCERIES ANYWHERE ON SITE?

Yes, there will be a mobile grocery shop for all those festival essentials. We recognise that you are in the middle of the glorious countryside & will not take advantage of this by charging you anymore for the basics that you would pay in your local shop.

IS THERE A CASH MACHINE ON SITE?

Yes. There will be a Cashback facility available at the Ticket Exchange. Please note there will be a charge for using the cash withdrawal facility.

DO YOU RECYCLE ANY OF THE RUBBISH LEFT ON SITE?

Yes we do! Where ever possible we will adhere to the very best practice in dealing with waste and rubbish.
